Tonight, we had the wonderful opportunity to be inspired and taught at the 2009 General Relief Society Meeting, broadcast from the Church’s Conference Center in Salt Lake City, Utah (USA). This meeting is held annually, one week before our Church’s General Conference. We were instructed by the general presidency of the Relief Society (Sisters Julie B. Beck, Silvia H. Allred, and Barbara B. Thompson) as well as President Henry B. Eyring, first counselor in the First Presidency of the Church.
Video rebroadcasts are available online, in English, Español, Português, and American Sign Language. [Edited to add:] Audio is available in multiple languages as well. (For a list of languages, see below.)
Transcripts will be available in a few weeks in multiple languages. [Edited on Oct. 6 — transcripts in English are now available]

As always the talks were wonderful.
I appreciated Sister Beck’s simplistic solutions to the problems that face the sisters around the globe. That she trusts the leaders and individual sisters to solve the problems in the areas where they live. The Lord will help us help each other!
Mind the Gap! I really enjoyed that phrase from Sister Thompson’s talk to remind me that there is a gap between our knowledge and our practice of the gospel.
Just a few things that stand out, but it was all wonderful!
I loved Pres. Eyring’s reminder that it is what’s in our hearts that matters and what we pass on to other’s hearts.
I loved Sister Thompson’s “Mind The Gap” talk. I thought of many gaps I needed to mind in my own life, but I especially loved her message for us and the young women to mind the gap between YW and Relief Society. There are a few Young Women I taught a few years ago that fell into the Gap. I miss them.
The thing that I took away the most was when Sister Beck quoted Elder Uchtdorf and his thoughts that we need to rid our lives of the non-essentials. Things we spend time that don’t have any real meaning, things that are taking our time away from better things.
