There are certain things that I do that make me feel close to the Lord.
George Washington Carver said, “I like to think of nature as an unlimited broadcasting station, through which God speaks to us, if only we will tune in.”
I’m inclined to agree with Mr. Carver, for I see evidence of God’s love as I wander in the mountains,
watch the sun rise or admire flowers growing around me.
Martin Luther said, “God writes the gospel not in the bible alone, but on trees and flowers and clouds and stars.”
I feel a confirmation from the Spirit that our Savior, Jesus Christ, created the earth for us. These same feelings are the ones that help me know that He lives.
I feel peace in my soul when I am in the quiet of nature, away from the sounds of town. Out here is where I know, God loves me.
He loves you, too.
Please share a time when you felt close to God while enjoying the beauties of nature.

Beautiful images, beautiful sentiment; gracefully expressed. Thank you for conveying what many of us know but have never been able to capture-those sheer moments of awe when God does indeed allow us to glimpse but a hint of his majesty.
Thank you for this.
Oh, thank you for sharing your beautiful photos and thoughts, Amanda. That quote spoke to me, and I feel a lot like you do.
I’m looking at a picture right now of me and my 3 year old when we drove into the mountains last fall to look at leaves. The area around the river looked like it was on fire, the kids threw stones into the water, and we were so happy and peaceful with the sounds of nature. I’m so thankful God loves us enough to give us such a beautiful world to enjoy.
Beautiful images, and such a beautiful message too!
