It is hard to specify how the gospel impacts my life, because it impacts me in every way, with every role that I have.
As an individual, I find great purpose and meaning in life because of the gospel, and knowing who I am and why I am on the earth.
As a wife, I understand the importance of this covenant relationship, and that this is a relationship that can last forever. The gospel helps us make it last for this life first!
As a mother, I understand more fully how important this role is. I have learned the importance of sacrifice. I think I have grown as a person, although I realize I have a long way to go still. I cherish my children and try to cherish each stage, and teach them constantly about the plan of salvation and the gospel truths that have made all the difference in my life.
As a church member, I seek to serve when asked and also when I’m not asked. I seek to remember that service and sacrifice are part of God’s laws, and that my love for others and for God grows as I serve. I feel His love more as well.
As a neighbor, friend, and stranger, I look inward often to try to see if I am living a truly Christlike life, even in the little things–like when someone cuts me off on the freeway, or is unkind to me in line at a store. The Savior is my example, and it didn’t matter the situation or the person, He always responded and interacted with love. I seek to remember His example more often in my day-to-day life.
In the end, I try to remember that my life is a gift, trials and all. And so the gospel helps me want to be more grateful for all of it, and to remember life’s divine, eternal purpose.
I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and have a firm testimony of the greatness and worthiness of this church.
