More About “Who We Are”

We as women of the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are a diverse group. We live all over the world, speak myriad languages, and live with different opportunities and challenges. But there are some principles and truths that bind us together, and this site is designed to explore those uniting elements in our lives.

Whether you are wanting to understand more about LDS womanhood, or are a member of the Church wanting uplifting content to read, we hope this site will be of benefit to you. Please feel free to share your thoughts, comments, and feedback with us at mormonwomen at gmail d’t com.

We have chosen a piece entitled “Who We Are” (written and generously made available by Tammy Simister Robinson) as our theme song to communicate what Mormon womanhood is about. This music reflects the power and joy we feel in the blessing of being women in the Church. You can listen to the song at the above link. The words are also included below.

Who We Are

We are beloved daughters of God;
Born of His Spirit, blessed in His love.
Serving the Lord with purpose and strength;
Women of vision, virtue and faith.

Chorus:
This is who we are:
Sister in Zion.
This is who we are:
Seekers of light.
This is who we are:
Women of Christ,
Daughters of God.
This is who we are.

Women of wisdom,
Teachers of truth,
Keepers of covenants,
Guardians of good,
Partners in promise
Woven as one;
Seeking eternal treasures beyond.

(Chorus)

Bringing nobility to motherhood,
Finding joy in womanhood,
Unified through sisterhood.
Steady and right,
Holding the rod,
Rising in light,
Standing with God!

This is who we are:
Sisters in Zion.
We are
Seekers of light.
This is who we are:
Women of Jesus, our Savior,
Daughters of God.
This is who we are.
Women of vision, and virtue and faith.
This is who we are!
