At the end of this month, women in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints all over the world will be joining together to hear from the Relief Society general leaders, who address us every year at the annual General Relief Society Meeting.
This year’s meeting will be the first time our newly-called General Relief Society presidency will be addressing us. Following are a few things some Mormon women have talked about doing to prepare for the Relief Society broadcast that will be held on September 29. 2012.
– Read the 2012 BYU Women’s Conference address by the new General Relief Society Presidency: ““The Vital Role of Women in the Gospel” by Linda K. Burton, Relief Society general president, Carole M. Stephens, first counselor, Linda S. Reeves, second counselor
– Read through Daughters in My Kingdom and/or peruse the Daughters in My Kingdom website
– Review past Relief Society Meetings
– Listen to Relief Society podcasts on the Mormon Channel
Sister Burton recently noted, “It’s interesting how the Holy Ghost weaves things together to teach us things we need to do, especially when they’re repetitive.” We can look for the law of witnesses at work as we watch for these patterns in the upcoming messages we will hear in the coming weeks.
