I’ve been looking forward to the rebroadcasts of the 2011 BYU Women’s Conference. I was thrilled that BYU-TV has made many of the talks available on demand.
We’ll be sharing a few of the talks here. Today, we’re posting Sister Beck’s address (video is embedded below). I was moved by how much she has thought about this message (she’s been pondering it for a year, since last year’s BYU Women’s Conference). Note how she talks about talking to thousands of women, listening to their concerns, writing down their questions, and recording answers that come to her. People may wonder how women lead in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Sister Beck is a beautiful example of that. She reaches out, she listens, she seeks to live so that she can get answers from heaven to help the sisters around the world.
Note also her answers about whether women should work, about women and the priesthood, and other important topics. This is a talk I will want to listen to more than once. I appreciated, too, how she summarized many of the other things she has talked about, like being lionesses at the gate, standing strong and immovable, and more.
Read what others have to say about her talk here, here, and here. You can read a summary of her talk at the LDS Church News website.
And you can watch Sister Beck’s talk at BYU-TV [edited because the video embed feature was disabled].
[Edited to add] The transcript of Sister Beck’s 2011 BYU Women’s Conference talk is now available.
Thank you for posting the talk. I plan to listen to it shortly.
Thanks for posting this awesome talk; I feel sad I didn’t get to the Women’s Conference this year. You have given great links so I will be listening and reading.
As you know this is one of my favorite blogs and you will hear from me soon.
Blessings to you!
Thank you for posting sister Beck’s talk. What an awesome speaker! I hope other talks like the one by Elder Bednar will be posted too.
I have not yet attended Women’s conference. My husband and I are living in Astana, Kazakhstan, serving as humanitarian missionaries for 18 months.
We had our first convert baptism in this city last month, a single sister by the name of Veniera .
Viviane,
Thank you so much for taking the time to comment! I also appreciate the reminder to post Elder and Sister Bednar’s talks…I had them in a draft but had neglected to post them.
I went ahead and posted it as soon as I got your comment. Enjoy!
Thank you so much for your service. Please let us know what else you might like to see.

I can feel Heavenly Mother breaths through Sister Becks words! Thank you so much for posting the Women’s Conference talks!
I am having problems listening and watching any of the byu womens conference talks, from 2011 and 2010. Is there a way I can access them?
