He knows you can.

This past weekend I have learned a lot about obedience and trusting the Lord… and miracles!
I got up and dressed casually for my day, but then realized that I really needed the blessings of going to the temple to be able to deal with the worries that weighed upon me.
My list of to-dos came flooding to mind: I had to get kids to school, I had to hurry and change, I had chores to do, and I had an appointment at 11am. The last time I had gone to the temple, I hadn’t gotten home until 10:30am, and that just wouldn’t work with my schedule this particular day.
I had almost talked myself out of going when I found this quote by Elder Boyd K. Packer:
“When you say, ‘I can’t! I can’t solve my problems!’ I want to thunder out, ‘Don’t you realize who you are? Haven’t you learned yet that you are a son or a daughter of Almighty God? Do you not know that there are powerful resources inherited from Him that you can call upon to give you steadiness and courage and great power?’”
I knew that I needed to put my trust in Heavenly Father’s promise that if I would “go and do,” He would “prepare a way” for me to accomplish it (1 Nephi 3:7).
And He did. I was able to get to the temple and back by 9:40 instead of 10:30am, and I had a wonderful, peaceful time there. My burdens were lightened, my responsibilities and appointment fulfilled, and I knew that God had provided the way!
That day I learned again that when we act in faith by doing what the Lord asks, we then allow Him to perform miracles and send blessings on our behalf.
I know He can!
Love this. Thanks for sharing. It is surprising how often we get in our own way. Thanks for inspiring me to have greater faith today!
I’m so happy for this reminder. I’m in need of such a blessing as we speak, but i am reminded that even when thinks get tough, we can still press forward in faith.
Thank you so much..
Oh, to live so close to a temple that one can squeeze going into a morning routine!
