Today, we would like to wish you a Merry Christmas, and invite you to follow this link to view a beautiful video in some quiet moments today.  It is the new video for Shawna Edwards’ song “Do You Have Room?” and conveys a beautiful and simple message.

I have listened to this song many times since it was first shared here earlier this month, and I was prompted to make more time for the Savior during my days.  Quiet time is rare in our house, with 3 very lively children (5 years old, 3 years and 18 months).  Many mornings this month, I set my alarm for what felt like the middle of the night so I could have quiet time to read the scriptures, pray sincerely, and ponder different gospel concepts.  Some mornings I was too tired from sleepless nights with restless children, and I’d turn off the alarm clock and instead wake with the first noises from a child.  During those harried days, my to-do lists often ran long and were rarely finished, and when I would take a moment to decide which task to tackle next, I often heard the music to Shawna’s song in my head: Do you have room for the Savior?  Do you seek Him anew? That was the cue for me to put aside the to-do list, give the children some blocks, and find a few quiet moments to spend time with the Savior.

I was rewarded this month as I worked harder to make a place for Jesus Christ, and was reminded that Jesus Christ always has, and always will have, room for me.

Speaking of Temple Square lights make a top-ten list of places to visit at Christmastime.

While this article is a couple of years old, it captures well how people all over the world try to keep the true spirit of the season alive.

And you won’t want to miss this this video from a past Mormon Tabernacle Choir concert, with narration from Edward Herrmann about the poignant and powerful story behind the Christmas song, “I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day.” Included are other powerful words from Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, speaking of the Savior, Jesus Christ: “Though in a manger thou draw breath, thou art greater than life and death.”

Simplify your Christmas by embracing the spiritual side of the season.

The gift of Christmas isn’t wrapped up in presents or parties. The gift of Christmas is Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten of the Father, the Son of God. As you follow Him, you put people first. You may spend less time in lines and more time serving others. You may spend less money on – and more time with – the people you love. You may lose yourself and you may find everything else that matters.
