Thank you for this wonderful post. It was so nice to find a spirtual and tactful outlook on this whole controversy. It is so sad. I feel for those who struggle with those unfortunate tendencies, and pray that they will find strength and an open mind toward what the Lord would have them do to overcome. We all struggle in our own ways.
You have a beautiful way of writing what needs to be stated with the spirit of truth and hope. Thank you again.

Thank you, so much, for this post. I felt the same way during his talk and have been so disappointed in the way his comments were misconstrued. There is much that can help people in his talk if hearts are open and there is a desire to understand.

Jendoop, the word integrity has been on my mind as well in describing Pres. Packer. He and other prophets teach what they know to be true, even when it’s not popular to do so.

Stephanie, I for one am glad you wrote your own thoughts. I found this to be particularly profound: "I believe President Packer was saying, in part, that we should all spend more effort doing what’s right, and less effort trying to redefine what is right. "

Michelle, you’ve written a good summary and explanation. This is something I often struggle with putting into words.

I appreciate President Packer’s unwavering devotion to truth and his integrity in fulfilling his calling as an apostle of Jesus Christ.

I, too, was saddened by the controversy — the message I heard was one of our loving Heavenly Father and our Savior reminding us that the Atonement is real, we can overcome struggles and weaknesses through its power, and that Heavenly Father, the Savior, the prophets and leaders of the Church love us and long to help us overcome temptation and enjoy the blessings of exaltation.
