All four of my grandfather’s great-grandfather’s, Caleb Baldwin, John Fullmer, Daniel Tyler and John Tanner, had a special connection with Joseph Smith. They were close to him in ways few others were. Yesterday my father shared with me that this was the foundation of his testimony of Joseph. These close ancestors of his, men that his own grandfather knew, all were so closely associated with Joseph that if Joseph was NOT what is said to be true about him, these ancestors of his would not have held so fast to the gospel. Yet they did and so have their descendants ever since. I suppose my testimony of Joseph Smith is simply in my DNA. I have never doubted and always loved and revered him.
