What a wonderful visit that was, being together and working on making these dish cloths. Not only are we helping those in need, but the time was spent in joyful conversation. I will remember it always.

So true! I need to look carefully at what fills up my life and what bad habits I need to get rid of (um, too much computer time? ;) Sometimes the choice is between good and good--but I need to focus on what is essential.

I remember last year making the wash cloths. I started again about a month ago and while mom was here this past week she made at least four+, last stay she made two. I think we may have up to ten now!

Great information, Heather! It's so true - that we must cultivate a bright, righteous environment within us in order to strengthen the spirit and make way for higher things in our lives... not an easy task in a very distracting world. But so very vital.

Loved this! I like to think of the mind and our thoughts as a garden that needs to be weeded on a regular basis. Weeds can overtake a garden so quickly and quietly so it's best if we just pull the bad thought as as fast as it comes. (I'm thinking I'm behind on the weeding these days.)

Nice analogy! A good spacer in my life SHOULD be exercise, but most often, it's spending some time with an uplifting book. (Not that a good book is a bad thing.)

Another one might be writing a thoughtful note to somebody or taking up a new hobby. Blogging, for instance!
