But I have seen in my own life the Lord blessing me with compensating blessings, and that is what helps me when I feel down. I know Heavenly Father loves me and is aware of my struggles because of the many little hand-holds he leaves for me as I climb this mountain.

Wow. I love this image of hand-holds.

And I love the principle of compensating blessings. As one who struggles with chronic illness herself, I have seen such blessings in my own life and in our family.

Bless you in your journey, and thank you for sharing here.

Thank you so much for sharing your story. Reading this today has given me a lot of comfort and faith. Something well needed. I believe the Lord works quiet miracles because of people such as you. Thank you!

Thanks for your encouraging words! I hope my profile didn't sound like too much of a downer! Lots of really great things happen to me all the time, including the fact that my boss has been letting me work from home for the past year. I have a whole category of miracles and inspirations that happen to me on my blog (currantpie.blogspot.com). I'd love to be "online friends" - hop on over and let me know where I can read about you, too ;)

Lecia,

Sometimes people wonder "Why Me?" Maybe you've wondered that too. But your example in this post shines through, the ability to even see compensating blessings along with pushing forward shows your strength.

You seem like a wonderful person to call a friend.

Lecia, thanks for sharing!

One of the hardest things is to give up what we had planned our whole lives for, isn't it?

I am am amazed at your willingness to sacrifice being a stay-at-home mom (full-time) to help your husband. You are another example of how Mormon woman come from so many different backgrounds!
