I attended the youth New Years Eve dances, and they were always semi-formal. There was the main dance, but there was also ping pong, pictures, fantastic food and games to play as well. It was my favorite dance of the year.

But now, that same New Years Eve dance makes finding a sitter tough!

My town is hosting a New Years Eve event for families at the town Gymnasium this year. Some friends of ours have invited everyone they know to their home for a pot luck. We’ll probably go to both.

Since I live in the Pacific time zone, many people throw parties from 6pm – 9pm and then we all watch the ball drop in New York on TV and can put the kids to bed at a normal time. Then my husband and I will stay up together and eat more treats or watch a movie.

Although I rarely write down resolutions, I do take mental stock of where I am each year. 2009 was not my favorite year and so I’ll have lots to work on in 2010.
