I have to agree with the previous comments. I also have an adopted daughter. It's funny because I mentioned just a day or two ago that I have to remind myself that I am not the one that gave birth to her. But I was there when she was born. I put the first diaper on her and I fed her the first bottle. I'm glad to see I am not the only one that must have reminders to self. I too, agree, she is as much mine as my biological twins. Thanks for sharing of the comments. I truly appreciate them.

Adoption is very close to my heart too. WIth out it, we wouldn't have our daughter. Like you, I sometimes forget that I didn't give birth to her ~ she is mine as much as my biological boys.

Thanks for sharing your story!

Thank you for sharing this. As an adoptive mother of two beautiful children, it's sometimes hard to explain to people that they are MINE. We also sometimes get critical comments about the birthparents... which just rips our hearts. It's difficult to explain that sacrifice = love and really? God knows where these children are supposed to be. I too am so grateful to these birthparents and I am so thankful for the miracle of adoption. The moment they put the babies in our arms, the Spirit instantly testified that these are OUR children.

I like your point that your mother/daughter love with Callie took some time. Some days become better when I seek out the reasons that I love my daughters (and sons, if that day every comes!) Yes, I unconditionally love my girls, but I am much happier when I seek out that "mother's love." Thanks for the great insight!
