Jenny, I have been wanting to write myself on this topic, and now I'm glad I didn't because this was perfect. There is so much mercy and power in knowing that little children are born free from sin. But, then there is also the responsibility given to parents to teach right from wrong from a very early age.

I had a newly baptized kid in my carpool just the other day. I asked him how he felt about being baptized and he said, "Great!" But then after a few minutes, he leaned over to my seven year old daughter and said, "You know, getting Baptized is a lot of responsibility. Now, when I make a mistake I have to pray to God and repent." He didn't seem discouraged by that prospect either. He seemed up to the task. My daughter was wide eyed and excited to learn of his good choice to be baptized.
