I have learned a LOT in my life from my father and he was always there to correct any serious deviation from the straight and narrow, but mother was the one constant that set the example of the way one ought to live.
Switching now to my wife, I can't even begin to explain how much more I appreciate her and depend on her to be that perfect example and a mother to my girls now that I am in Afghanistan. I may be in the middle of a war, but there is nothing I think or care more about in my life than the wonderful job my wife is doing as a mother. She could do nothing else to make me more proud of her, than to continue doing as she is doing and being a good example to our girls.
Erika, you are a wonderful person and a great example. Thanks for sharing, and I'm sure it doesn't take Tom going to Afghanistan to greatly appreciate you.

I often hear women wonder why they went to school or did this and that if they were "only" to settle down to being a stay at home mom. I feel that everything we do enriches us and makes us better shapers of our children. No one can shape our children better than we ourselves can. We shape our children in our own image. The better our own shape, the better shape they will be formed in. Everything you have done has blessed lives, including the lives of you and your family.

What an inspirational story. I am a representative for Mark (Avon's "teen" line) and donate cosmetics and other accessories to a local Goodwill project that helps homeless/abused/convicted women get back into the workforce.

I now feel that I need to give more by "doing" and not just donating. I'm looking forward to more in this series of "Portraits of Mormon Women".

What an inspiration. I loved both of the video links. This post made me wonder what I can do to better serve the people around me.

But what inspired me most, was Erika's desire to be remembered as a mother.

Thank you so much for sharing this Erika.
